Surface Preparation: Proper surface preparation is essential to achieve a high quality finish. Read the SDS sheet and wear proper protection, which may include gloves, eye protection, and/or other protective devices.
Previously Finished or Primed Surfaces: Using POR-15 Cleaner Degreaser ensures that the surface is clean, dry, and free from oil, grease, dirt, salts, and any other contaminants. All blistered and loose paint must be removed. All bare areas must be primed with POR-15 Rust Preventive Coating before a full coat is applied. Glossy surfaces should be roughened before recoating.
Bare Steel: Using POR-15 Cleaner Degreaser clean all surfaces to ensure they are free of loose rust, mill scale and contaminants such as oil, grease, dirt, and salts. You must use POR-15 Metal Prep if you are painting on new steel, galvanized metal, aluminum, or any smooth metal surface.
Application Information: REMEMBER TO STIR THIS PRODUCT BEFORE AND DURING USE. A gallon of POR-15 OEM Bed Liner will cover approximately 100-120 square feet. This is enough coating to properly apply the recommended 2-coats to all standard-sized 6 foot truck beds. Apply when air, surface and product temperatures are above 50°F (10°C) and surface temperature is at least 5°F (3°C) above the dew point*. Avoid exterior application late in the day when dew and condensation are likely to form or if rain is expected. *Air and surface temperatures must remain above 50ºF (10ºC) for the next 24 hours. PROTECT FROM FREEZING. Once applied POR-15 OEM Bed Liner will be ready for light-duty use in 24 hours and regular use in 48 hours.
Application Equipment: Brush Use a high quality nylon brush. Roller Use all-purpose short nap shed resistant phenolic core roller.
Clean Up Instructions: Clean hands and all tools using soap and water before POR-15 OEM Bed Liner has dried. Make sure the container lid is securely sealed back on to container. Unused POR-15 OEM Bed Liner can be used at any time.
